A UK charity offering free mental health support to veterans has reported a 63 per cent jump in referrals, reaching 633 in 2025-26 year – and it's still getting people seen within a fortnight.

PTSD Resolution has been running since 2009, accepts self-referrals and there's no eligibility hoops. Despite the surge in demand, average time from registration to first session has remained at 12 days.

The clinical results are worth knowing about. A peer-reviewed study published in Occupational Medicine found that 79 per cent of clients achieved reliable improvement and two-thirds of those treated specifically for PTSD made a full clinical recovery – outcomes that held even as the charity took on more complex cases. It has now supported nearly 5,000 veterans and family members, at an average cost of £910 per therapy course, and has received NHS Veteran Aware accreditation.
